This collection documents Patricia Wand́s professional activities including her service to the American Library Association (ALA) through correspondence, meeting minutes, publications, and reports. Of note are her files relating to ALÁs Library Legislative Day, the founding of the Coalition for Networked Information, and her Fulbright course in Ecuador. She also served as a delegate to the White House Conference on Library and Information Services. Patricia Wand served as University Librarian at American University from 1989 through 2006. Prior to that, she held library positions at the University of Oregon, Columbia University, the College of Staten Island (CUNY), and Wittenberg University (Ohio). Ms. Wand served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Colombia from1963 through 1965.
